The first bowl of the season features the Fresno State Bulldogs against the 10 point underdog Wyoming Cowboys on December 19 at 4:30 PM ET at University Stadium in a WAC vs. MWC clash.

The Bulldogs ended 8-4 in the season only losing against really good teams like Boise State, Cincinnati and Wisconsin; meanwhile Wyoming finished 6-6 losing against great teams like Texas, TCU, BYU and Utah, but also dropped games against Air Force and Colorado.

Fresno State has one of the nation’s best running production; they lean most of the time in RB Ryan Mathews who has 1664 yards this season and 17 TD.

Mathews is one of those big talents hidden of a small program that will need to exploit on a Bowl so the NFL scouts can take a good close look of him.

Considering he will be at his best for that game and noticing that the Cowboys rushing defense is awful, College football betting fans should expect a big game from him.

Keep in mind Wyoming allows 4.4 yards per carry and 170.5 yards per game and have allowed 22 TD this season, bad numbers if you want to stop the 7th best rushing offense in the nation.

In other to get an upset the Cowboys shouldn’t put the ball on freshman QB Austyn Carta-Samuels, he doesn’t make a lot of mistake but neither can throw the ball down the field.

Their best weapon will be sharing carries between RB Alvester Alexander and WR Brandon Stewart, that can confuse the Bulldogs rushing defense, which by the way is not good.

Fresno State allows 6.2 yards per carry and over 200 rushing yards this season.  Any College Bowl game predictions have a few surprises and the lack of tackling of the Bulldogs rushing defense against a mix offense can be one of them.
